Join us at the Brooklyn Apothecary on Wednesday November 4th at 7pm for an evening of ceremonial cacao and handpan.

The veil is thin this time of year. From Samhain to Día de los Muertos, cultures around the world pause to remember the ones who came before us, and cacao has long been part of that remembering, offered on altars and shared at the table with those we love.

The sky holds the same invitation. The Sun is in Scorpio, the sign of depth, endings, and rebirth, and the Moon is a waning crescent, in the quiet days of release before the New Moon in Scorpio on November 9. With Venus and Mercury both retrograde, it's a season for looking back: at what we've inherited, and at the love and stories we choose to carry forward.

Just after these days of honoring, we gather in a small circle of women to warm our hands around cacao, call in our lineage, and feel the fire they passed down to us.

Two pours of Soul & Spirit cacao from the Mayan lands, two different energies.
Soul is for remembering. A gentle practice to honor the women and ancestors whose strength lives in you.
Spirit is for carrying the fire forward. Breath and movement to wake up the life force you inherited, and the joy of being alive in your body.
Each pour comes with its own oracle card, a prompt to take you deeper.

Bring a photo, a name, or a small object that holds the memory of someone you'd like to honor. We'll place them on a shared altar for the evening.

What's included:
· Two pours of Soul & Spirit cacao, each with its own spice blend
· An oracle card drawn for each pour, with a guided prompt
· A shared ancestral altar
· Breath and movement practices for each energy
· Authentic relating practices for real connection in a small circle of women
· Live handpan by Johann throughout the night
· A small takeaway gift
. 15% off Anima Mundi products to shop in store

Your hosts:

She's a certified Authentic Relating facilitator and a longtime student of numerous methodologies of self-inquiry, mindfulness, and energetic systems in her own life — this night draws directly from that practice.

Johann Bermudez (@alternabeat), founder of Alternabeat, has been building live soundscapes internationally for years, shaped by the room's needs in the moment.
